Panel of 3 Arbitrators?

Some litigants prefer a panel of three arbitrators on large cases. This can be accommodated in two ways. Frank can submit a list of potential arbitrators to the litigants or the case can be filed with Arbitration Service of Portland, Inc. to administer the selection of two additional arbitrators.

Based on his experience hearing many cases with three arbitrators, the primary benefit has been to the arbitrators. All cases Frank participated in resulted in unanimous decisions. The rulings were made easier because two other arbitrators shared in the responsibility.

On the other hand, the costs in arbitrators’ fees were times three. In other words, there was no difference in the result but costs were increased.
